QUESTION: WHAT INFORMATION IS NEEDED TO HAVE HOME LUMBER SIZE A BEAM OR HEADER?
- A complete set of plan is always best, but if plans aren’t available, Home Lumber will need to know the following information; beam/header location, width of the structure, direction of the roof, desired opening size (width and height) and wall height. Knowing whether or not if there is living space or storage space above the beam/header is also an important factor that must be included as well.
QUESTION: HOW MUCH TIME IS REQUIRED TO DESIGN AND QUOTE A STRUCTURAL FLOOR SYSTEM?
- Once our team has all the information required from the customer, the standard lead time to do the design and prepare the quote is five business days.
QUESTION: WILL I RECEIVE A FLOOR LAYOUT WITH MY QUOTE?
- Floor layouts and engineered specifications are not included with our quotes. All required layouts, engineering data sheets and state sealed drawings (if required) are included in the delivery packet upon delivery to the job site.
QUESTION: CAN HOME LUMBER PROVIDE A STEEL BEAM IF NEEDED FOR A PROJECT?
- Yes, a steel beam can be sourced from Home Lumber. Because of variations and changes which could occur during construction, we prefer to hold off shipping pre-cut steel beams until the dimensions can be verified. Once verified and relayed to us, we will have the beam cut to your specified length and delivered to the job site.
